This coin, unlike all the others in this
page, may not have been struck in Cordoba were Hisham was besieged during
the whole of his second reign. Atypical is the lack of a name at the
bottom of the I.A and the placing the of the laqab in the second line
instead of the third of the II.A, even more telling is the atypical
epigraphy and design of the coin. Therefore, this coin was probably struck
by any one of the miriad of Taifa rulers that sprung up across the Andalus
during its prolonged civil war. |
